Set of two handmade crochet baubles created from rescued baubles and covered by hand in small-batch, hand-dyed Bluefaced Leicester 4ply wool yarn from a local Cheltenham indie dyer.
Soft cream with rainbow speckles and subtle variations running through the yarn, no two baubles are quite identical. Beautiful hung traditionally, but definitely not just for Christmas - add them to wreaths, garlands, fairy lights, children's rooms or colourful displays around your home.

A second chance, Button Room style
These baubles haven't started life shiny and new at Button Room HQ, and that's rather the point.
Each one is a rescued, unwanted bauble that may otherwise have been discarded. Some arrive scratched, tired or simply no longer wanted. Rather than buying brand-new baubles to cover, I collect the old ones and crochet them a rather fabulous new jumper.
Underneath that beautiful crochet, therefore, you may find an old bauble with the odd mark or imperfection. You won't normally see it, but I think knowing it's there is part of what makes these special.
For this set, I've covered three standard-size rescued baubles using yarn from the same small-batch hand-dyed skein, created for Made in the Button Room by a local indie yarn dyer in Cheltenham.
The yarn is Bluefaced Leicester (BFL) 4ply British wool blend, in a beautiful soft cream with rainbow speckles and delicate variation throughout.
Because the yarn is hand dyed, the baubles are rescued rather than mass-produced specifically for me, and every cover is crocheted individually by hand, your baubles will coordinate beautifully without being absolutely identical. That's exactly how they're supposed to be.
Not just for Christmas...
Yes, you can put them on a Christmas tree. They look rather good there.
But putting them back in a box for eleven months of the year seems a bit of a waste.
Try them:
- hung amongst fairy lights or bunting
- incorporated into a wreath or seasonal display
- displayed in a decorative bowl on a table or sideboard
- adding colour to a child's bedroom or playroom
- mixed with other sizes and colourways to build your own collection
- or, of course, hanging proudly from the tree when December rolls around.
They're little pops of colour for your home that just happen to have started life as something somebody else didn't want anymore.

Every bauble has had a life before it reaches the Button Room, so the bauble underneath may vary slightly in shape, construction, top or finish.
The hand-dyed yarn also changes naturally as it moves through the skein, meaning the placement and concentration of the speckles will vary between each bauble.
Please don't expect three factory-identical decorations, that's rather missing the point.
You will receive three coordinating, individually handmade baubles created using the same yarn colourway.
Your baubles will be carefully packaged using recycled and recyclable packaging wherever possible.
I prioritise protecting your order while avoiding unnecessary new packaging. That means your parcel might not always arrive surrounded by layers of traditionally 'pretty' packaging, because there is quite enough packaging going to waste already.
It will be carefully packed. It will be protected. It just won't have unnecessary packaging added purely for appearances.

These handmade crochet baubles are intended for indoor decorative use only. They are not designed or manufactured as toys and should not be played with.
Keep out of reach of babies and young children. Each bauble includes a hanging cord and may contain small or detachable components which could present a choking or entanglement hazard. Please also keep away from pets.
Handle with care. As these baubles are made using repurposed decorations, the bauble underneath and its fittings may vary slightly. Do not pull, twist or place excessive pressure on the hanging fitting or crocheted covering.
Keep away from naked flames, candles, heaters and other direct sources of heat. Do not place directly against decorative lights or other electrical items that become hot.
Cleaning: If required, gently surface wipe with a soft, damp cloth and a small amount of mild washing-up liquid. Do not soak, immerse in water or machine wash. Do not use bleach, harsh chemicals, solvents or other cleaning fluids. Allow to air dry naturally and completely before storing or displaying again.
Storage: Store somewhere clean and dry, away from damp, excessive heat and direct sunlight. To help protect the crochet covering, avoid crushing the bauble or placing heavy objects on top of it during storage.
Before each use, check the bauble, hanging cord and fitting for signs of damage or looseness. Discontinue use if any part becomes damaged, broken or detached.
Due to the handmade nature of these decorations and the use of repurposed materials, small variations and minor imperfections are to be expected and form part of the individual character of each bauble.
